Lip Looks You'll Fall For

Lip Looks You'll Fall For

Fall means the return of some our favorite things—suede boots, drapey silhouettes, but mostly, chic lip looks. Summer’s warm corals and super glossy pouts are fun and easy, but by the time the weather cools down, we’re ready for more drama. Inspired a little by Fashion Week, and a lot by people watching on public transportation, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite fall lip trends for your viewing pleasure:

OXBLOOD LIPS

Everything is better in Oxblood. Heeled ankle boots, leather leggings—you name it. But its best iteration is undoubtedly lipstick. It’s deep enough to feel sultry, but the red tone channels an air of confidence and sophistication. Applying darker lip colors can be tricky, so we suggest enlisting the help of an angled brush and a bit of concealer underneath your lip line.

BLACKBERRY LIPS

Dark purple lips have gotten a bad reputation. They’ve been restricted to the grunge look in the past, but let’s rectify that perception. Come fall, blackberry colored lips are multifunctional. Pair the look down with a crisp white shirt and a grey sweater for work. For night, play up on the drama by choosing a blackberry lip with a leather jacket and a sleek up-do.

NATURAL GLOSSY LIPS

We’ll never get tired of sparkle. Our summer tan is starting to fade, but instead of piling on bronzer, we enlist the help of some highlighter on our cheekbones and around our Cupid’s bow. We pair a "non-toured" face with a neutral-toned, shimmery lip to catch the light at our best angles. Dust some gold eyeshadow around your lid line, and call yourself a natural beauty.
